Kicking tires on new product from an industry leader like The North Face is no easy task. But, that’s what Campmor’s buyers faced today, when the sales team from The North Face paid a visit to Campmor’s corporate headquarters.
The buyers got their first look at the full product line that will be introduced to the public for Spring 2010. Aside from the vast array of tents pitched on the lawn, buyers were poring over packs, footwear, and rack after rack of the latest in performance and lifestyle clothing.
The challenge for our buyers, from brands like The North Face, is selecting the very best from the vast selection of product across multiple categories. Many gear companies offer day packs, tents or trail running shoes. Few offer such specific choices as “fell runners”, modular performance family tents or endurance running packs. Sorting through all of the choices in order to present customers with a wide selection that makes sense, is often harder than having fewer options.
It’s like picking out the straightest tree in a healthy forest. We’re fortunate that our buyers are able to draw on real world experience, when making their buying decisions.
